Things will obviously be a little different this term. Outlined below are new rules that we must follow in order to keep us all safe and comply with current regulations. As long as dance studios and classes are following other COVID-safe guidance (particularly social distancing) they are exempt from the rule of 6.
Acceptance of the new rules is a condition of accepting a place.
When attending ballet class:
Your responsibility in keeping our community safe
The reality is that we will not be able to prevent some of the ‘bubbles’ having to isolate if directed by Public Health England. A student may well have picked up the virus in the family home, the local shop or in the park. As parents/guardians, to minimise the risk, it is essential that you do not bring them to ballet if they have developed a raised temperature. It would be advisable to then arrange a test. This will then protect the community from potential transmission.
For guidance, please take the following action:
Please contact Meri at meri@flamingosdance if you have any questions or concerns. Rest assured, that whilst acting responsibly, we will ensure that ballet classes are as fun and ‘normal’ as possible.

Acceptance of the new rules is a condition of accepting a place.
When attending ballet class:
- Students to use hand sanitiser as they enter the studio.
- Students and teacher to avoid physical contact.
- Students need to arrive & leave on time so as to avoid unnecessary contact with others.
- One way system at The Stable - enter through the main front door and exit through the side door leading to the courtyard.
- Students should arrive dressed for class as there are no changing facilities at the studio.
- Students to leave outdoor shoes in the porch/entrance lobby.
- Toilets for emergency only.
- No props, toys or change of shoes - we will have one character class per month when we will just work on the character element.
- Parents and carers not allowed into the studio.
- Any adults entering the studio must wear face masks/visor.

For guidance, please take the following action:
- If a child shows symptoms: You should arrange a test for your child and they must isolate for 10 days from the first day of symptoms
- If a child’s test is positive: You must notify the me at meri@flamingosdance. I will contact Public Health England for guidance on next steps. Other parents may be notified as per their guidance.
- If a child’s test is negative: S/he may return to ballet if feeling well (it may be flu or a bad cold instead for example which would normally keep them off for a bit)
- If a household member shows symptoms: All other household members must isolate for 14 days. If during isolation they develop symptoms, they need to restart isolation for 10 days from that point and get a test
- If a household member tests positive: This does not change the isolation period of 14 days from the start of their symptoms for others
- If a household member test negative: The student can return to ballet if they are well
